I cannot tell you how excited I was about this session. The family let ME reveal the gender to them. How awesome is that?  Mom had the ultra sound on a Thursday morning and asked the doctor to seal the gender in an envelope. As you can imagine they tried to peek, but couldn’t see any clues. She gave me the envelope  later that day. I didn’t open it until Friday night. I did not trust myself to know what the baby was until the very last minute. I have to admit, I even tried to peek! I was beyond excited when I finally opened it and saw the results since I knew they were expecting the baby to be a girl.

Because most of their family is not local, they decided to forego a Gender Reveal Party and have a Gender Reveal Photo Session instead – everyone was waiting to see the post on Facebook – so the pressure was really on me to get the images edited and the Sneak Peek up as soon as possible.

Take a look for the family’s reaction…

This was one of my favorite recent sessions. Mom and son were so cooperative and easy going. I had to keep reminding myself that I was dealing with a woman who was due in 3 weeks and not push her too long. We finally stopped when it got too dark. What made this so great was just how simple everything was. The white clothing, the white bedroom…it was so peaceful. I love colorful images, but this time, white worked so well. It really conveyed their moods too…calm, relaxed. Such a sweet family. The only thing missing is dad who unfortunately had to work. Next time, dad! **Hint: Watch this with the music.

The H family traveled down from near Reading for this session, visiting the zoo afterwards to make a day of it. We had all kinds of props for this fun shoot…a chalkboard, bubbles, bread for baby geese and lots of teasing, as you can see. I love the images of the little girl telling a secret to her brother then smooching him. Like any boy, he’s grossed out and can’t wipe that kiss off fast enough. We had lots of laughs – my favorite kind of photo shoot. Here are few of my favorites.
